レジデンス８ヶ月と２１日目

今日ライクスの自分の郵便受けを見たら、マテリアルバジェット（ライクスから支給される制作費）の明細書が入っていました。年間１６５０ユーロ、もらえ各ワークショップで使った材料費などが引かれていきます。（注１）
きょう私の９月締めの残高を見たら、１０ユーロ。まじですか。
これから制作の山場だってのに・・まあ今年始めのうちキャンヴァス地も絵の具もいろいろ試したし、そうだ夏前にゴールデンの高い絵の具もたくさん試したしなあ〜とかいろいろ思い出されましたがともかくこれからの制作は自腹です。

そのあと白の絵の具をもらいにペイントワークショップにいくと、テクニシャンのArendが「トモコ、お前バジェットはまだあるのか？」ときいてきます。
「あんまりない」というと、テクニシャンの間に廻っているバジェット破産者リストを見、「大丈夫、ブラックリストにお前の名前はまだない」と言って白の絵の具をくれました。１０ユーロに救われたわ〜。ありがとう、１０ユーロ使わなかった私！
そしてブラックリストに名前がない今月のうちに、延ばし延ばしにしていたワークショップでの作業を済ませねばと思い、今日は大きいキャンヴァスを２つと少し小さいのを１つ、一気に作ったのでもう疲れました。

The Black List

I found a receipt of my material budget in my mailbox today. Each participant is given €1650 a year from Rijks. When we use some material from the workshop, the cost is drawn from this budget.
I checked my balance dated at the end of September – I only have €10 left. True? Oh my.
The climax of the year is yet to come, you know... um... I tried different canvas and paint at the beginning of this year... and yes, I tried to paint with expensive paint by Golden... humph... anyway, from now on, I have to pay for the material from my stipend.

After that I went to the paint workshop to get some white paint. Then Arend, the technician, asked me ‘Tomoko, do you still have your working budget left?’
When I said ‘umm... not so much left,’ he checked the list of ‘bankrupts’ and said ‘no problem. You are not on this list yet’ and he gave me some white paint. I was rescue by €10! Well done Tomoko! You managed to save €10!
Realizing that I should finish what I’ve been planning to do before my name is put on the black list, I made two large canvases and a small one all at once today. I am exhausted.
